Who we are
Kipumi is an iPhone app made by an independent developer. For anything about your privacy, write to support@kipumi.com.
What stays on your phone
Your pet, reminders, tasks, lists, notes, timers, birthdays and dates, routines, saved places, settings and everything you asked Kipumi to remember are kept in the app's own storage on your device. They are never sent to us; we have no server to send them to. Your device's own backups (iCloud or a computer) may include them, as with any app.
Kipumi remembers only what you tell it to remember. All of it is on the screen “What Kipumi knows” (with your pet’s name in place of “Kipumi”), where you can change or delete any of it.
Calendar
If you allow it, Kipumi reads the calendars on your iPhone to remind you about events. It never changes your calendar and never sends it anywhere. Events are read when needed and are not stored; only what you add to an event in Kipumi (such as a reminder time) is kept, on your phone.
Location
Kipumi reads your position only at the moment you tap “Use where I am now” to save a place, and keeps only that place. It never tracks you and keeps no history of where you have been. Reminders that wait at a place are handled by iOS itself. When you search for an address or use the map, the search and map tiles come from Apple.
Microphone and speech
When you tap the microphone, what you say is turned into text and used exactly like typed text. No recording is kept. For most languages Apple’s speech recognition does this, on your device where the language allows it and otherwise by Apple. For Lithuanian, Kipumi uses a speech model that runs on your phone: nothing you say leaves the device. That model is downloaded once, only if you ask for it in Settings; like any download, the server it comes from sees your device’s internet address.
Notifications, widgets and Siri
Reminders are scheduled on your phone by iOS. Widgets read a small file the app keeps on your phone. Requests made through Siri or Shortcuts are kept on the phone until the app opens and carries them out.
What leaves your phone
Anonymous usage counts (PostHog, EU)
To learn which parts of Kipumi are used, the app sends a fixed list of events such as “a reminder was made” or “the offer was shown”, with simple numbers and flags. Kipumi asks before sending any. These never contain anything you typed or said, or your reminders, tasks, notes or memories. They carry a random identifier created on your phone, which does not identify you and is deleted when you erase everything. Your IP address is not stored. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage counts. The data is processed by PostHog in the European Union.
Crash reports (Sentry, EU)
If the app crashes, a technical report is sent so the problem can be fixed. Only if you allowed it when Kipumi asked. It contains the kind of error, where in the code it happened, and basic device information (model, iOS version, app version). Error messages are removed before sending, and there is no personal data, screenshots or content. You can turn it off any time in Settings → Send crash reports. It is processed by Sentry in the European Union.
Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)
Kipumi Plus is bought through Apple; we never see your payment details. RevenueCat checks with Apple whether your subscription is active, using an anonymous identifier for your installation. No account or name is involved.
What we never do
- No selling or sharing of your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- No ads and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No account, so nothing about you sits on our side.
Your choices and rights
You can export everything Kipumi keeps as one file (Settings → Export my data) and delete everything at once (Settings → Erase everything). Deleting the app also deletes its data from your phone. You can switch off usage counts in Settings and withdraw any permission in iOS Settings. If you are in the EU, you have rights under the GDPR, including access, correction and erasure; since the data stays on your phone, these controls cover nearly all of it. For anything else, or to complain, write to us, and you may also contact your data protection authority.
Children
Kipumi is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal data.
